York Sewing Machine Care & Repair Center was founded by Alfred Ernest, who has been serving the sewing machine industry in Toronto from 1992.

Alfred was a factory trained engineer who led the service department of Swiss Sewing Machine Brand, ELNA Canada. He was in charge of all technical aspects of ELNA Canada providing warranty repairs, training of independent ELNA dealers, managing the parts department, trouble-shooting, and factory testing of new designs and feature improvements.  

With the new developments in the sewing machine industry, Alfred worked for another 20 years as a subcontractor technician of most sewing machine companies, and clothing factories in Toronto providing multi-brand technical support and repairs. After 30 years of extensive experience as a factory trained technician, considering the critical need for high expertise in a changing and demanding sewing industry, Alfred established York Sewing Machine Care & Repair Center to provide support to sewers of East York, North York, Scarborough and all customers in Greater Toronto.

Our Center is located strategically at 887 O’Connor Drive with convenient access to 401 and Don Valley Parkway as well as just a 15-minute drive to downtown Toronto.
